Department of Applied Sciences aims in imparting knowledge and in creating the environment for implementation of practical aspects so as to build solid background for Engineering Education. Being indispensable part of acem, this department plays a vital role in teaching basic science courses as prescribed by the engineering curriculum of T. U. It looks after the academic and administrative activities of the first year students in all engineering program of this college.
Different subjects that are directly dealt under this department are Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Communication English, Probability and Statistics, Numerical methods, Fundamental of Thermodynamics and heat transfer, Workshop technology, Engineering drawing I and II. This department is backed by well educated, talented and dedicated faculty members. The teaching module comprises of lectures, tutorials and practical.
The department ensures that the education we provide is reflected not only by being successful in the examinations but also helping students to be successful and competitive in their career and contribute their best to the society.
The mechanical section conducts theory and practical sessions of subjects related to Mechanical Engineering which includes Fundamental of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Engineering Drawing and Workshop Technology for the first year undergraduate students. These subjects help engineering students of every stream to form the core of what it means to be “an engineer” in real life.
