2nd Semester Orientation Program

May 13, 2025: The Department of Applied Sciences at Advanced College of Engineering and Management (ACEM) successfully conducted the 2nd Semester Orientation Program, highlighting key areas such as departmental overview, faculty introductions, academic calendar, evaluation criteria, and institutional rules and regulations to guide students toward a productive academic journey. Er. Sanjeev Karki, Head of the Applied Sciences Department, provided the required information to the students. 

The following primary areas were discussed during the program:

1. Departmental Overview

  • Introduction to the Department of Applied Sciences

  • Mission, vision, and objectives

  • Role of the department

  • Resources and facilities 
     

2. Faculty Introductions

  • Introducing faculty members and their areas of expertise

  • Designation and subject responsibility

  • Student consultations and mentorship
     

3. Academic Calendar

  • Semester start and end dates

  • Examination schedules (internal and board exams)

  • Key academic events (workshops, seminars, holidays, project deadlines)
     

4. Evaluation Criteria

  • Breakdown of internal and external assessment (e.g., 40% internal, 60% external)

  • Components: assignments, attendance, tests, presentations, final exams

  • Minimum passing requirements and grading system

5. Institutional Rules and Regulations

  • Attendance policies and dress code

  • Code of conduct and academic integrity

  • Use of mobile devices and digital tools

  • Disciplinary actions for misconduct
