Session on Transportation Engineering

26 May 2023: The Department of Civil Engineering organized a session on Transportation Engineering in the premises of Advanced College of Engineering and Management (acem) with Er. Arjun Jung Thapa, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport as the key presenter of the session.

Er. Thapa primarily highlighted the valuable insights into the historical background of road development in Nepal. He discussed key milestones and events that have shaped the country's road infrastructure over time. In addition to this, Er. Thapa emphasized the challenges encountered in road development projects in Nepal. Furthermore, he also underlined the factors such as rugged terrain, limited resources, and the importance of creating sustainable and resilient infrastructure.

This session was provided to the fourth and third-year students of civil engineering with an aim to deliver a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in planning, designing, and implementing road projects in Nepal.
