ACEM Signs MoU with GMT Cooperative, Japan

Jestha 13, 2083 (27 May 2026), Advanced College of Engineering & Management (ACEM), Kalanki, Kathmandu, Nepal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GMT Cooperative, Japan, marking an important milestone in strengthening international academic and professional collaboration.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed by the Principal of ACEM, Prof. Dr. Durga Prasad Sangroula, and the Director of GMT Cooperative, Mr. Eri Shimamaki, representing their respective institutions and reaffirming their shared commitment toward international collaboration and future cooperation.

The MoU aims to foster mutual cooperation in areas of academic engagement, professional development, training initiatives, industry-academia collaboration, and global opportunities for students and graduates. The partnership reflects a shared vision of promoting international exposure, skill enhancement, and meaningful collaboration between ACEM and GMT Cooperative.

The program commenced with a warm welcome and introductory address delivered by Assoc. Prof. Er. Laxmi Bhakta Maharjan, Vice Principal of ACEM. During his address, he introduced ACEM and highlighted the institution’s academic excellence, achievements, and continued commitment toward quality engineering education, innovation, and professional development. He also extended a cordial welcome to the distinguished representatives from GMT Cooperative and expressed sincere appreciation for the collaborative initiative.

During the program, the Chief of CAILIC (Center for Academia-Industry Linkages and International Collaboration) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shanker Dhakal also shared how CAILIC has been actively working to contribute meaningfully toward bridging the gap between academia and industry through collaboration, professional engagement, research networking, and international partnership initiatives.

Likewise, Director of GMT Cooperative, Mr. Eri Shimamaki, expressed his delight and enthusiasm regarding the partnership with ACEM. He shared his positive outlook toward future collaboration and emphasized his interest in creating meaningful opportunities and long-term engagement through the partnership between the two institutions.

The event was concluded with closing remarks by the Chairperson of ACEM, Mr. Ramesh Kumar Silwal, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Japanese delegation for their presence, trust, and collaborative spirit. He further conveyed his confidence that the partnership would pave the way for productive cooperation and valuable opportunities in the years ahead.

The MoU signing ceremony witnessed the enthusiastic participation of ACEM’s Heads and Deputy Heads of various departments, faculty members, staff members, and students.

ACEM believes that this collaboration will contribute significantly toward strengthening international engagement, promoting professional growth, and expanding future opportunities for students and graduates through meaningful global partnerships.
