Posted on April 15, 2026

The 4th year Computer Engineering students of Advanced College of Engineering and Management (ACEM) proudly presented their major project at SpaceCon 2026, Nepal’s largest annual space conference, held on 12th April, 2026. The event was conducted by Antarikchya Pratisthan Nepal in collaboration with Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).

The research paper, titled Satellite Attitude Control using Reinforcement Learning and State Space Model,” explores a model-free Artificial Intelligence approach to control satellite orientation under uncertain conditions. The proposed method demonstrated competitive performance when compared to traditional model-based PID controllers. The project was carried out under the supervision of Er. Damodar Pokhrel from Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), providing students with valuable academic insight and professional exposure.

In addition to presenting their work, the team gained meaningful opportunities to engage and network with researchers and professionals in the field of space technology.

The project was presented by:

  • Ms. Alisha Shah
  • Mr. Aryan Kafle
  • Ms. Aagya Khati Chhetri
  • Ms. Ajita Kharel

ACEM extends its heartfelt congratulations to the team for this outstanding achievement and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors.

This accomplishment reflects the spirit of innovation, dedication, and the strengthening research culture at ACEM.
