Advancing practical learning through structured academic and municipal collaboration

Posted on April 30, 2026

On Baishakh 16, 2083 (April 29, 2026), the Advanced College of Engineering and Management (ACEM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Godawari Municipality (GMC), Lalitpur, to establish a formal framework for collaboration in the areas of internship, training, and applied learning.

The MoU outlines a mutually beneficial partnership aimed at bridging academic knowledge with practical experience. It provides ACEM students with opportunities to gain hands-on exposure in real-world municipal operations, while enabling the municipality to benefit from the contribution of skilled and motivated students in development and service delivery initiatives.

As per the agreement, selected students will be placed in relevant departments and project units within the municipality. Their engagement will include participation in activities such as project planning, implementation, monitoring, research and documentation, data management and analytics, GIS and IT-related work, and engineering and infrastructure support.

ACEM will be responsible for identifying eligible students, providing academic guidance, and ensuring proper supervision throughout the internship period. Godawari Municipality will provide a structured professional environment, assign mentors, and facilitate meaningful exposure to public service delivery, governance, and development projects.

The agreement is effective for a period of five years and reflects a shared commitment to capacity building, professional development, and strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and local government.

This partnership represents an important step in advancing ACEM’s mission to deliver quality education through practical engagement and to produce competent, industry-ready graduates capable of contributing to national development.
