Web Development Workshop Successfully Completed at ACEM

The Research and Innovation Unit (RIU) of Advanced College of Engineering and Management (ACEM) successfully conducted a four-session Web Development Workshop aimed at equipping students with fundamental web development skills and introducing them to modern software development practices.

The workshop commenced with an introduction to how websites function, including the process of routing traffic from a user's computer to a website through the internet. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of HTML and CSS and gained hands-on experience by creating a basic version of their personal portfolio websites.

As the workshop progressed, students further developed their understanding of frontend web development concepts and continued enhancing their portfolio projects through practical exercises and guided learning activities.

In the third session, participants explored Git and GitHub, gaining valuable insights into version control systems and their significance in modern software development. Students learned how Git helps track changes in code, manage project versions, and facilitate collaboration among developers. Key concepts such as repositories, commits, branches, and collaborative workflows were introduced through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities.

The fourth and final session focused on backend development and deployment concepts. Students were introduced to backend frameworks and learned the basics of API development using Node.js and Express.js. The session also covered cloud computing platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as the differences between static and dynamic deployments. Participants concluded the workshop by enhancing and completing their portfolio websites, integrating the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program. The final day of the workshop was conducted on Jestha 29, 2083 (June 12, 2026).

Through a combination of theoretical understanding and practical implementation, the workshop provided students with a comprehensive introduction to modern web development. Covering frontend development, version control, backend technologies, cloud platforms, and deployment practices, the program helped participants build a strong foundation for future learning and professional growth in software development.
